Riverhead joined Southampton-area departments this year to host the East End Youth Police Academy, giving local students a glimpse into the training and discipline it takes to become a police officer.

A Mastic man was indicted today on charges connected to the "alleged unprovoked stabbings of two random men" on May 2 in Riverhead and Riverside, according to Suffolk County’s district attorney.
