The Town of Southampton is creating a town-wide housing plan as part of an update to the town’s Comprehensive Plan, and is looking for the community's help to develop the best plan to suit the town's needs.

The homes will be sold to qualified first-time homebuyers chosen through a lottery by the Southampton Town Housing Authority, executive director Curtis Highsmith announced Monday night at the Flanders, Riverside and Northampton Community Association meeting.

Located on Moses Lane and on Magee Street in Southampton, the homes are being sold for $332,400 each.

Peconic Crossing, which plans to build 48 rent-regulated apartments in downtown Riverhead, was awarded nearly $5.5 million in state funding. The project is in the final stages of review by town planners and the developer hopes to break ground by the beginning of 2016.
