Anti-bullying

Roanoke Avenue Elementary School students delivered 400 valentines to the Westhampton Care Center Thursday as part of a P.S. I Love You Day weeklong event.

A new school year is just around the corner. The Riverhead Anti-Bias Task Force invites parents and students to attend a bullying prevention workshop with the Suffolk County Office of Health Education on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. at Riverhead Free Library.

Kids throughout the Riverhead school district wore purple and spread positive messages in the hope of stopping bullying and preventing suicide.

During this week, as Riverhead schoolchildren had character lessons about acceptance, inclusion and bullying, things went particularly awry in the United States of America with pipe bombs delivered to political leaders and a mass shooting in a synagogue. Column by Denise Civiletti
