The owner and operator of Hotel Indigo East End has proposed a senior assisted-living facility on Route 25, next to the hotel.

The owner of land at the corner of Manor Road and Route 25, which has been in litigation with the town for more than a decade, is proposing to settle all claims with an agreement that would allow the development of a three-story assisted living facility, requiring a change of zone on the property.

A request for a zone change that would allow for the construction of a 162-unit assisted living housing development on a 25-acre site on Mill Road drew strong objections from the community during a two-hour public hearing last night at Riverhead Town Hall.
