Coffin races

With a bad rainstorm in the forecast Sunday, Riverhead’s Coffin Races have been moved to Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on the Peconic Riverfront.

The Halloween costume parade will feature cash prizes for first, second and third place winners and the weekend events for the first time will include coffin races.

Halloween weekend events in downtown Riverhead this year will include coffin races, a wildly popular event that's been held in a Colorado town for more than 20 years.
