The Riverhead Central School District will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Friday with an evening of art, games, music and presentations at Riverhead High School.

Riverhead Town’s Anti-Bias Task Force will hold a meet-and-greet event to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The Riverhead Anti-Bias Task Force invites the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with SEPA Mujer at the Riverhead Free Library, Tuesday Sept. 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome. 

"Through this diversity, we feel that it enriches our students overall education in learning about others that are different than us and accepting those differences and honoring those differences,” Phillips Avenue Elementary School principal Debra Rodgers.

The Vail-Leavitt Music Hall hosted its First Annual Hispanic/Latino Heritage Celebration Friday evening, with family fun, including music, dancing and ethnic foods, plus a screening of the movie, "The Book of Life.”

The Riverhead Town Board acknowledged Hispanic Heritage Month at its regular monthly meeting today at Riverhead Town Hall, presenting OLA of Eastern Long Island with a proclamation about the month-long celebration.
