A virtual public forum on housing in the Flanders, Riverside and Northampton community will take place tomorrow night at 7 p.m.

Nora Soto-Cordova, 32, was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, after her 7-year-old son was left home alone and started fires, police said.

A new separate zip code for Flanders, Riverside and Northampton is part of the 2017 version of the Postal Service Reform Act, which was introduced in the House by Utah Republican Jason Chaffetz, who visited Flanders with Rep. Zeldin in September.

Rep. Lee Zeldin responded to the U.S. Postal Service's rejection of his request for a new zip code for the tri-hamlet area in the northwest corner of Southampton Town by seeking a legislative mandate, inserting a provision in the postal service reform act pending in the House that will require it.

Having their own zip codes would foster community identity, and eliminate confusion from 80 duplicate addresses within the 11901zip code, which is spread over two municipalities.
