Norton House

Efforts to save the circa 1855 building were unsuccessful because of the expense and logistical difficulty of relocating it.

The plan to relocate the 19th Century structure known as the Norton House that was once a blacksmith shop serving area shipyards has been abandoned and the building is now slated to be demolished.

The circa 1855 Norton House on East Main Street can be moved to Third Street and renovated by builder Bob Castaldi, Councilwoman Jodi Giglio told town board members today.
