An enthusiastic crowd of hundreds of students, faculty, residents, police officers and elected officials marched Friday morning through downtown Riverhead with a clear, loud message: 'Say NO to Drugs.'

Riverhead Community Awareness Program (CAP) presents a new public awareness campaign to encourage students to celebrate prom and graduation season safely and avoid underage drinking and drug use.

Sheriff Earl Toulon will lead Riverhead CAP’s 34th annual “Say NO to Drugs" march on Friday, June 7.

This is the Riverhead coalition’s second consecutive Coalition of Excellence Award. It recognizes the coalition's success in removing unused and unwanted prescription medications from households in Riverhead.

Riverhead Community Coalition for Safe and Drug-Free Youth has received the Coalition of Excellence Award for Intermediate Outcomes from the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, the nation’s leading substance abuse prevention organization.

Riverhead CAP is asking for the community’s help to evaluate its prescription drug abuse prevention initiatives through a brief online survey.
