Riverhead Country Fair

It was a perfect autumn day for a fair and thousands of visitors flocked to the 40th Annual Riverhead Country Fair yesterday to stroll, eat, drink and shop in downtown Riverhead.

Downtown Riverhead hosts one of the biggest fairs and festivals in New York state today, the Riverhead Country Fair, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Riverhead’s beer garden idea turns out to be short-lived. The Riverhead Town Board today backed off plans aired at last week’s work session to restrict the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at street fairs and festivals.
