Riverhead Country Fair

The Riverhead Country Fair, a perennial favorite, will return to downtown Riverhead Sunday, Oct. 10 featuring craft vendors, food, carnival rides, midway games, live entertainment, agricultural and homemaking contests and local craft beverages.

It was a beautiful day for a street fair and folks came from all over the region to enjoy the 44th annual Riverhead Country Fair in downtown Riverhead.

Vendors are wanted for the annual Riverhead Country Fair, set to take place Sunday, Oct. 13, in downtown Riverhead.

The 43rd Annual Riverhead Country Fair opens Sunday morning at 10 a.m. with vendors galore, traditional agricultural and homemaking competitions, a carnival and — new this year — free children's entertainment in Grangebel Park, including a petting zoo and magic show.

While skies were overcast, the temperature was pleasant, winds were calm and rain stayed away — providing, ironically, perfect weather for strolling along the huge fairgrounds stretching across the downtown riverfront.

The Riverhead Country Fair has been canceled due to today's weather, organizer and Riverhead Townscape board member Tom Farruggia said this morning.
