There is “damning evidence" of the toxicity of the chemical Suffolk County uses to kill mosquitoes. Yet a majority of the County Legislature votes each year to allow its continued use.

Suffolk County's vector control division of the Department of Public Works is planning its first aerial pesticide of the season today, spraying two pesticides aimed at killing mosquito larvae in salt marshes in locations including some in Riverhead, Aquebogue and Flanders.
