Thinking of buying a new kitchen appliance? If you can, hold off on that purchase to take advantage of New York’s Great Appliance Swap-Out from Feb. 12- 21. During this time, New York State residents can trade in their existing old appliances for energy-efficient models and get a cash rebate!
WHAT DO I SAVE? If you purchase an eligible refrigerator or clothes washer, the rebate for either is $75 and a new freezer could earn you a $50 rebate. If you are able to document that your old unit was recycled, your REBATE could rise to $105, $100, and $75 respectively.
BUY MORE, SAVE MORE. Go for a three-unit package of eligible refrigerator, washing machine and dishwasher, and you’ll get a $500 rebate — up to $555 with proof of recycling the old units. (Note: Dishwashers do not qualify if bought separately.)
WHAT ELSE? The deal is not retroactive. If you make a purchase before Feb. 12, you are not eligible for a rebate. Rebates are granted on a first-come first-served basis, so keep an eye out for the countdown calculator on NYApplianceSwapOut.com, where you can also learn more about the program.
