Riverhead Fire Department made quick work of a vehicle fire in the BJ’s parking lot this morning.

An unoccupied Mercury Grand Marquis parked in a handicapped stall caught fire at around 9:38 a.m. First responders reported flames coming from under the wheel wells.

Riverhead Fire Department dispatched an engine and quickly doused the flames. Firefighters and equipment were dismissed by 9:51.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
