Roanoke Avenue Elementary students designed more than 500 Valentine’s Day cards for veterans of the 106th Rescue Wing in Westhampton Beach. The project was brought to the school by teachers and student council advisors Nicole Fallon and Kelly Dillon as part of a kindness initiative.
The cards, which included drawings, thank-you messages and poems were presented to Chief Master Sergeant Joseph Kruk on Feb. 14 at the school, where he spoke about his military experience.
