Updated: Feb. 12, 4 a.m.- Riverhead schools will have a two-hour delayed opening Wednesday morning due to inclement weather in the forecast, Interim Superintendent Cheryl Pedisich said in a recorded phone message to school district families Tuesday evening.
All before-school activities are canceled, Pedisich said.
Riverhead Town Hall and town offices will also have a two-hour delayed opening, the town announced Tuesday night. All town offices will open at 10:30 a.m.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 9 o’clock Tuesday evening until 7 o’clock Wednesday morning. Around 3 inches of accumulating snow is expected overnight, the National Weather Service said in the advisory.
