Coastal storm

The storm will produce an inch or two of rain and northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45-50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Inundation of 1 to 2 feet in low-lying areas are possible during times of high tide today.

Warm air will change precipitation from snow overnight to a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain, then rain and sleet across the twin forks Saturday. Winter weather advisories are posted for western LI, NYC and surrounding areas.
