A Greenport man was arrested on a charge of felony DWI under Leandra’s Law after leaving the scene of a crash on Route 58 Monday night, Riverhead Police said. He had three young children in his vehicle, police said.

A Riverhead man was arrested on reckless endangerment, reckless driving and other charges following a high-speed crash in Polish Town that injured himself and the driver of another vehicle Tuesday evening, Riverhead Police said in a press release overnight.

The 23-year-old Flanders man removed a license plate from his vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said. He was arrested on multiple charges, according to the police report.

The driver of a Honda was traveling at a high rate of speed on CR 48, hit another car and left the scene, then failed to negotiate a turn onto Main Street in Greenport and struck a tree.

A motorcyclist was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital after being hit by a driver who left the scene on Route 25A in Calverton late last night.
