Litter patrol

The recently formed downtown Riverhead civic association will host town officials to discuss the issues of litter and trash throughout the town during its meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverhead Free Library.

The town's next cleanup event will take place on Saturday, April 23, in honor of Earth Day. Riverhead's Anti-Litter Committee is also looking for new members.

A crew of more than 50 volunteers turned out to pick up litter around Riverhead Saturday morning.

The Town of Riverhead Anti-Litter Committee will host its annual litter awareness and spring cleanup day May 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. A rain date is scheduled for May 11.
