Curtis Trent Jr., 36, of Calverton, was indicted today for Murder in the Second Degree for the stabbing death of his mother, Kathleen Harrison Trent, 63, of Calverton, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced.

Suffolk County Police arrested Curtis Trent Jr., 36, of Riverhead and charged him with second-degree murder in the death of his mother, Kathleen Harrison Trent, whose body was found Feb. 11 in a wooded area in Manorville, police said.

A Riverhead woman is facing a murder charge in a cold case dating back to September 1993, according to Suffolk County criminal court filings.

A Riverhead man was indicted today on a murder charge for fatally shooting a man in East Patchogue earlier this month, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney.

“This was a cold-blooded killing fueled by greed, treachery, and the complete disregard for Lee Pedersen’s life, all in order to steal the victim’s home,” Suffolk DA Ray Tierney said. Donatila O’Mahony, 43, was sentenced to 25 years to life in the murder and an additional 4 2/3 to 14 years for possession a forged will and attempted grand larceny.

The Hampton Bays man convicted in the November 2020 murder of a man found dead in the back of a pickup truck on Roanoke Avenue was sentenced this week to 25 years to life in prison.

Jason Langhorn, 40, an associate of the Riverhead-based “Red Stone Gorilla” subset of the Bloods gang, was one of three shooters in the November 2015 mistaken-identity murder of a man in parked car in Riverside.

Jason Langhorn of Riverhead, along with two other members of the Bloods, fired 39 shots into a car parked on Old Quogue Road in Riverside hey thought was occupied by a rival gang member in November 2015 and instead killed Thomas Lacolla, 27.

“Her alleged actions were diabolical,” Sini said. “Not only was this defendant allegedly involved in the victim’s death, but she then attempted to steal the very house he was murdered in.”

Suffolk County Police homicide squad detectives yesterday arrested a Central Islip woman in the March 8, 2020 shooting death of Lee Pedersen of Pine Avenue in Aquebogue.
