Nor’easter

Potential nor'easter could bring snowfall in excess of 6 inches Saturday to L.I., according to the National Weather Service in New York.

Storm dumped 2 to 3 inches of rain and packed wind gusts of 48 mph, but had no major impacts to local homes and businesses.

A nor'easter moving up the coast is expected to dump 2-4 inches of rain on L.I. today, causing flooding in coastal and low-lying areas.

The National Weather Service has issued flood and high-wind watches for Long Island for Dec. 9 with a nor'easter forecast to bring heavy rain and damaging winds, with gusts up to 60 mph.
