Riverhead Town strikes deal with rank-and-file police union, providing pay increase of 14% over four years
Riverhead Town and the Riverhead Police union representing the town's rank and file officers have reached a four-year deal on a labor contract retroactive to the beginning of this year and running through the end of 2026. The agreement was approved by the Town Board Tuesday.

Riverhead Police Officer Kaley Castantine was honored by the Riverhead PBA for her heroic rescue efforts to save a man who had driven his car in the L.I. Sound in Riverhead in October. She was among more than a dozen Riverhead cops recognized by the PBA for their ourstanding police work last year.

Riverhead Town and the Riverhead Police union representing rank and file officers have reached a five-year labor deal retroactive to Jan. 1, 2016. The agreement for the first time requires police officers to contribute to the cost of their health insurance coverage.

In decades-old tradition, Riverhead cops adopt local families for the holidays
Riverhead's finest are playing Santa today. In an annual tradition going back more than 20 years, Riverhead PBA members adopted 18 families and are providing them with complete turkey dinners with all the trimmings, plus gifts for a total of 40 kids.
