Town officials are seeking volunteers to help document buildings in Riverhead's Polish Town and collect stories and records that may help an effort to gain historic district recognition for the neighborhood.

The iconic Polish deli occupies a small storefront on West Main Street in Riverhead. But the deli, owned and operated today by the niece of its founder, has a big role in preparing for Easter in the Polish tradition for families near and far.

Father Robert Kuznik has been assigned to a new parish after 13 years at the Polish Town church. The Polish Pauline Fathers have accepted the pastoral care of the parish, the Diocese of Rockville Centre announced.

If you’ve lost touch with your faith, maybe now is the best time to come home. Though our dealings in the larger community may still be at a distance, God is never far away and always ready to say, “Welcome home.” 

Bishop Nelson Perez, an auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Rockville Centre who has been based at St. Isidore’s parish in Riverhead, has been named Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland.
