Riverhead Town adopts rules for environmental review
Riverhead has its own environmental review code now, in part mirroring new state rules that go into effect Jan. 1 — and in part more restrictive than the state's new rules. All projects that require environmental impact statements will be subject to mandatory scoping hearings and the so-called voluntary EIS process, used as a tool to expedite review, is barred.
