‘Turtle carnage’ on local roads: injuries and deaths from vehicle strikes worst in 12 years, rescue group says

Just last week, 36 turtles were found dead or had to be euthanized because of traumatic injuries, the founder of Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons said. The toll so far this year is double the number killed all last year.
