A second hockey rink is now open at the Peconic Ice Rinks in Calverton. The outdoor rink will be used for dek and roller hockey most of the year and transform into a second ice rink in the winter months

Riverhead Town has three pickleball courts at Veterans Park in Calverton, and needs at least three more according to a group of avid pickleball players who use the courts regularly. Town officials say new private facilities can meet the growing demand for court time.

The cherry blossom tree program offers the opportunity to purchase a 6-foot tall cherry blossom tree dedicated to a beloved veteran whose name will be displayed on a 12-inch by 6-inch plaque.

The Peconic Hockey Rink, located at Veterans Memorial Park in Calverton, is getting ready for its grand opening ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 25, where honored guests, including the first New York Islanders’ team captain, will be in attendance. 

Peconic Hockey's bubble dome is up and the rink operator is busy getting the site ready to open, hoping to start offering skating and hockey classes next month.

Town officials are scrambling to find funds to build bathrooms at Veterans Memorial Park, which the town promised in its contract with Peconic Hockey Foundation, after officials learned that money they were counting on will not be coming in any time soon.
