Albert E. Tosner died on December 16, 2012 at his home in Riverside. He was 85 years old.
Born Sept. 23, 1927 in Lynbrook, he was the son of Frank and Anna (Allen) Tosner.
He served as a Seaman in the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1943-45, during World War II. He married Phyllis DuPrey and worked as a machinist at U.S. Dynamics in Amityville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Annie Seidle, of Calif., Sandra Zilinsky, of N.J. and Catherine Bowden, of N.H.; by his brothers, Victor, of Uniondale and James Fosner, of Lynbrook; by his daughters, Barbara Rost, of Centereach and Nancy Medaglio, of Oakdale; his sons, Michael, of Riverhead, Douglas, of Las Vegas, and Dennis, of Levittown. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive visitors today, Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2-4 and 7-9 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home, 406 East Main Street, Riverhead. There will be a funeral service officiated by the Rev. Charles Byer on Wednesday Dec. 19, at 10:00 a.m. at our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aquebogue. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
