Peconic Bay Medical Center will offer a free skin cancer screening for uninsured patients on Sunday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rural Migrant Ministry, 573 Roanoke Ave., Riverhead.
The event, sponsored by the PBMC Cancer Survivorship and Outreach Program, is open to people without health insurance.
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and can often be treated effectively when found early, PBMC said . People are encouraged to see a doctor if they have lumps, bumps, spots, sores or other skin marks that are new, changing or otherwise concerning.
