The Italian virtuoso pianist Paolo Bartolani will return to the Jamesport Meeting House on Friday, June 12, for a performance he has titled “A Musical Conversation: Franz Schubert and Philip Glass.”

The concert, part of an ongoing “Music at the Meeting House” series,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature works by Schubert, the famed Austrian composer born in 1797, and Glass, an American widely considered one of the most influential living composers.

“By having a conversation between the music of today and that of the past, we discover the invisible thread between composers and how their music resonates with each other,” Bartolani explained.

“Mr. Bartolani will be performing on the 1902 Kimbel grand piano that was donated to the meeting house last year,” said Richard Wines, president of the Jamesport Meeting House. “A master pianist, a magnificent instrument and the vaunted acoustics of the meeting house will coalesce for an unforgettable evening of music.”

In addition to touring worldwide, Bartolani has served as director of the Association Resonnance-Italy, a non-profit organization promoting classical music throughout Europe and the United States. He last appeared at the meeting house in October before a near sell-out audience.

Tickets are $18 in advance, available online at, and $20 at the door. Student tickets are $8 online and $10 at the door. The meeting house is located in Jamesport at the corner of Main Road and Manor Lane.
