Beginning today, children can get free, nutritious lunches every weekday in the Summer Food Service Program at Riverhead Free Library.
The free lunch program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, continues through Aug. 28. Lunch will be served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The agency provides free, nutritious meals and snacks to help children in low-income areas get the nutrition they need to learn, play, and grow, during the summer months when they are out of school, according to a press release.
The library is located at 330 Court Street in Riverhead. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
