A four-car accident at the intersection of Sound Avenue and Northville Turnpike sent seven people to the Peconic Bay Medical Center this afternoon.

No injuries were life-threatening, police said.

Two vehicles collided when one of them was turning onto Northville Turnpike from Sound Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. A Nissan was eastbound on Sound Avenue when a westbound Mazda attempted to turn south on Northville. The Nissan then crashed into a Subaru that was stopped at the stop sign on Northville Turnpike. The Mazda then collided with a pickup truck.

Airbags deployed in both the Mazda and  Nissan.

All victims were taken to PBMC by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, with ambulances returning to the scene from the hospital to pick up additional patients. All vehicles will be towed from the scene, police said.

Traffic on Sound Avenue is being detoured until the accident scene is cleared.
