The driver of a Chevy Astro van westbound on West Main Street fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a utility pole just before 4 p.m. yesterday.
The crash took down the utility pole and lines, but the driver, the sole occupant of the van, was uninjured, according to police at the scene.
West Main Street was shut down westbound at Kroemer Avenue while the scene was cleared.
