Students in Aquebogue School were presented with a reading award and trophy recently by the staff of the Riverhead Free Library.
To earn the recognition, the elementary school students logged the most books read over the summer in the library’s summer reading contest. According to the library staff, 84 students participated and read more than 1000 books this summer.
To encourage kids to be lifelong readers, the library has developed this incentive/reward based summer reading program.
