Southold Historical Society will host an opening reception of the “Tale of the Whale” exhibition Saturday, June 22, at 11:30 a.m. at Horton Point Lighthouse.

In 2007, a small outer building of the society’s nautical museum at Horton Point Lighthouse was restored and converted to exhibit artifacts about whales. The Whale House and exhibit needed TLC, so volunteers Vivian Eyre and Robert Travis recently designed and installed an update to tell the story of whales in an educational and enjoyable way.

Suggested admission is $5 per adult; $10 per family. Parking is available for $5 for residents outside of the Southold Park District. Street parking is by Southold Town Permit only.
