He was born in Greenport on June 15, 1966 to Mary (Wren) and Robert Staples. He graduated from Greenport High School in 1984 and for the past 30 years was an electrician with IBEW Local #25.
He is survived by his wife Ann Marie (nee Westerlund) who he married on March 10, 1990 in Paradise Island, Bahamas, and his daughters Christine Staples of Southold and Carley (Kyle) Sparacino of Center Moriches. He is also survived by his parents, his siblings, Brian Staples of Maryville, Tennessee and Robin Walden of Greenport.
The family received friends on Oct. 14 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. Interment was on Oct. 15 at Stirling Cemetery in Greenport with Monsignor Raymond Walden officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. at Sterling Cemetery in Greenport, officiated by Monsignor Raymond Walden.
Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
