Riverhead’s fourth annual holiday light show returns tonight at a new location — Splish Splash Water Park in Calverton.
Families can experience the show by driving through dozens of light displays and enjoying synchronized holiday music on their radios. The course is expected to take around 20-25 minutes.
The course opens at 5 p.m. and ends at different times depending on the night. A full schedule of the performances is posted on the light show’s website.
Tickets are on sale online for $23 per car, or $35 for a VIP pass, which allows unlimited attendence to the show. Tickets will be sold at the door for $25, although their availability is not guaranteed. The show runs through Dec. 30.
“We are thrilled to once again bring to life a Riverhead annual tradition, and look forward to bringing the joy of the holidays to everyone with our festive light displays,” said Andrew Adams, the COO of the show’s producer BOLD Media. “The displays are brand new this year, and are sure to amaze both new and returning guests of all ages!”
The event has been held at Long Island Sports Park in Calverton for the last three years, however, the land it is usually held on was sold and is the future location the 22.9 megawatt L.I. Solar Generation’s Calverton Solar Center.
