Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home is offering a free document-shredding event for the community on
Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
The event will take place in the funeral home’s parking lot, located at 406 East Main St.
Documents brought to the event will be shredded in a professional shredding truck while participants watch, and then recycled. Residents can bring personal household documents, ATM receipts, checks, old tax records, credit card statements, copies of bills, mail and any other papers they wish to dispose of securely, to protect against identity theft.
There is a limit of four boxes or bags of material per person. The free service is not open to businesses and commercial entities.
There is no need to remove paper clips or staples from the documents. Plastic, cardboard and hard drives will not be accepted.
