Fri., Nov. 29-Sun., Dec. 1, Country Parlor Holiday Folk Art & Gift Show, Hallockville Museum Farm, 6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead. Hours vary. The event continues the following weekend.

Fri., Nov. 29, Gingerbread University’s Gingerfest, Gingerbread Barn, 3169 Sound Avenue, Riverhead. Decorate a gingerbread house or cookies. Prices vary. Continues weekends through Dec. 29. Multiple sessions each day.  Reservations required. 631-727-7309 Info.

Wed., Dec. 4, 7 pm, Big Duck lighting, Big Duck Ranch, Route 24 Flanders, Santa arrives by fire truck.

Sat., Dec. 7, 8-10:30 a.m. Pancake breakfast with Santa, Riverhead High School, 700 Harrison Avenue, Riverhead. Plus cookie decorating, fun games and crafts. Hosted by the Riverhead High School Cooking Club. All proceeds go to purchasing gifts for children in the local school community. Tickets are $8 at the door. (Children under 7 free.) 

Sat. Dec. 7, 9 am-3:30 pm & Sun., Dec. 8, 10 am- 2 pm, Pet Santa at Talmage Farm Agway, free digital photo by email. Free gift from Santa. All pets welcome – kids too. Schedule an appointment with Santa here

Sat., Dec. 7, 10 am – 3 pm, Riverhead Polish Hall Holiday Craft Fair, 214 Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. Artisan vendors, raffles and door prizes.

Sat., Dec 7, 12 noon, Railroad Museum Holiday Open House, Railroad Museum of Long Island, 416 Griffing Avenue, Riverhead,  Santa arrives at noon on a track speeder. Free admission. Free gifts for kids. WIN – a LIONEL “O” Gauge Toy Trainset.

Sat., Dec. 7, 1- 6 pm, Downtown Riverhead holiday celebration. Festivities kick off at 1 p.m. with the Lions Club Christmas Parade, Main Street, Santa arrives by boat on the Peconic River at 2:30 pm, followed by a visit with Santa in his gingerbread house on the riverfront, with a holiday bonfire and  refreshments. Tree lighting at 5:15 p.m. at the Riverhead Town Square.

Sun., Dec. 8, Historic Holidays at Hallockville, Experience old-fashioned North Fork holiday traditions during the Historic Holidays at Hallockville Museum Farm

Sun., Dec. 8, Brunch with Santa at Sea Star Ballroom and Long Island Aquarium. Seatings at 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm. Tickets: Kids 2 and under: $10.35, ages 3-12 $42, adults $78. Members get a 10% discount.

Ongoing through Dec. 31: The Riverhead Holiday Light Show, Splish Splash Water Park, 2549 Splish Splash Dr, Calverton. An immersive drive-through experience that takes guests through a mile-long showcase of dazzling lights, synchronized to holiday music. For dates, times and tickets visit the event website.
