The Riverhead Lions Club Blues Festival rocked the house at Polish Hall Saturday.

About 200 people turned out for the event, including groups from East End Disability Associates and Rise Life Services, club president Lisa Pickersgill said.

Blues Hall of Famer Kerry Kearney headlined the event, which featured performances by Frank Latorre, Pamela Betti, Jack Licitra and Bill Lifford.

Kearny was a driving force in organizing the event, securing performers for the event, a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House.

“Kerry has a heart of gold , donating so much of his time and resources,” Pickersgill said. “He’s an amazing artist, an amazing person and I am so grateful to get to work with him,” she said.

“We thank our amazing community for a perfect day at the Riverhead Lions Club Blues Festival,” said event coordinator for the Riverhead Lions Club, Renee Thompson Harris.

“We had an incredible turnout, which proves that when we come together, we can achieve amazing things. We are grateful for every single person who attended and gave so generously. The music was incredible. The energy was high and your generosity was humbling” Harris said.

Harris said the event raised “a significant amount or the Ronald McDonald house to support families in need.”
