The Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer group of nearly 100 members, donated a record $642,120 in 2025 to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, the organization announced last week.

The gift brings the Auxiliary’s total giving over the past five years to more than $2.876 million.

“I am deeply grateful and immensely proud of the ELIH Auxiliary’s unwavering support for Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital,” Paul J. Connor, chief administrative officer of SBELIH, said in a statement. “Their dedication and generosity directly benefit the hospital and the community we serve.”

The Auxiliary raises money through events such as the Dream Green Extravaganza, Car/Cash Giveaway, Ladies Day on the Links and Italian Night Dinner. Members also run two retail operations: the ELIH Auxiliary Opportunity Shop at 321 Main Street in Greenport Village and the hospital’s on-site gift shop.

Founded in 1905, the Auxiliary has contributed more than $21 million to support hospital initiatives, according to the organization, and ranks among the top hospital auxiliaries in New York State in total funds raised.

Auxiliary donations have helped the hospital purchase and improve equipment and facilities, including a new ventilator, upgrades to medical/surgical beds, refreshed furnishings for staff and physicians’ lounges, and support for other operational needs. The investments are intended to strengthen programs and services at SBELIH for patients on the North Fork and Shelter Island.

Helene V. Fall, president of the ELIH Auxiliary, said the group marked a milestone year in 2025.

“2025 was a significant year for the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary,” Fall said. “We celebrated 120 years of devotion to our hospital and our community. We are thrilled that our 2025 donation was another record breaker.”
