Two men were arrested late Tuesday night after Riverhead police said a K9 officer found them inside a fenced property on Grumman Boulevard in Calverton.
Riverhead Town Police said a K9 unit was conducting a routine patrol around 10:22 p.m. March 31 in an area that has had recent reported burglaries when the officer spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot at 645 Grumman Blvd.
Police said the officer and K9 partner searched the area and located two individuals within the fenced-in property. Antonio Martin, 19, of Mastic Beach, and Jack Beaudry, 19, of Miller Place, were arrested and each charged with third-degree criminal trespass and possession of burglar tools, both misdemeanors, according to police.
Both men were transported to Riverhead Police Department headquarters, processed and released on desk appearance tickets, police said.
