Riverhead will celebrate the Fourth of July and the 250th anniversary of the United States with a parade in downtown Riverhead and fireworks at South Jamesport Beach on Saturday, July 4.
The America 250 Community Parade will step off at 11 a.m. from School Street, adjacent to Pulaski Street School. The parade will proceed along Roanoke Avenue and Main Street, concluding at Ostrander Avenue.
The downtown parade is expected to feature marching bands, decorated floats, community groups, school teams, classic cars and more as part of Riverhead’s observance of America 250, the nationwide commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
The town’s Fourth of July fireworks display will take place that evening at South Jamesport Beach. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
