Following the president's declaration of a national public health emergency concerning opioid abuse and addiction, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency announced it is deploying six special enforcement teams to combat trafficking in heroin, fentanyl and the violence associated with drug trafficking in six communities “facing significant challenges with heroin and fentanyl."
