Heating assistance program

Renters and homeowners who need assistance keeping their homes warm this winter can apply for help to the Home Energy Assistance Program, known as HEAP.

The HEAP program is making $327 million in federal funding available statewide to eligible older New Yorkers and low- and moderate-income New Yorkers to help cover heating costs.

Eligible households can receive a one-time benefit of up to $625 this winter depending upon income, household size and heating source.
