Riverhead Town has canceled the runway use agreement it signed with Luminati Aerospace and has authorized a license agreement with tech start-up Launcher Inc. for use of part of the runway taxiway.

Launcher founder says the company will submit permit and site plan applications within 30 days as directed by the town, but disagrees that its facilities at the Luminati site require the town approvals.

A technology entrepreneur who has trained his sights on aerospace is testing innovative rocket engines at the Luminati Aerospace facility in Calverton — but town officials say he's operating there without required town approvals.
