Riverhead physician assistant Michael Troyan was sentenced to five years in federal prison, three years’ supervised release, and $710,290 forfeiture, by U.S. District Judge Denis R. Hurley this morning in Central Islip.

On Thursday, Bender will surrender himself at the Lewisburg Federal Prison Camp in central Pennsylvania, where he will begin to serve out a two-year sentence for his conviction on a charge of conspiring to sell oxycodone. He sat down for an exclusive interview with RiverheadLOCAL this weekend.

Former Southampton Town Councilman Brad Bender, who pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge last November, was sentenced today to 24 months in prison and three years probation.

Bradley Bender, 52, is accused of buying oxycodone pills from Riverhead physican assistant Michael Troyan and reselling them to dealers on the street.
