Riverhead Centre

TGI Fridays in Riverhead, one of the last remaining in the national restaurant chain operating on Long Island, closed its doors on Monday, according to a sign posted on the restaurant’s doors. 

The off-price retailer plans a spring opening in Riverhead, a company spokesperson told RiverheadLOCAL Friday.

Sephora, the personal care and beauty products retailer, plans to open a store at Riverhead Centre on Route 58.

Burlington Stores was the successful bidder at a bankruptcy auction of 44 Bed Bath & Beyond leases nationwide, including the one in Riverhead Centre. The off-price national retailer bid $12 million for the leases. The sale could be approved by a bankruptcy court as soon as Monday.

Prestige Properties & Development Company Inc. of New York City has taken ownership of the 395,000-square-foot shopping plaza, purchased for an undisclosed sum, the seller's representative announced.

The Riverhead Home Depot reopened for business this morning following a fire Monday that damaged its main entrance. That entrance is closed but the store opened using the building's other entrances.
