Stabbing

Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing that occurred about 1 o’clock this afternoon in the area of the parking lot across from the Riverhead railroad station.

Police officers responding to reports of a disturbance and possible shots fired at 63 Zion Street in Riverhead just before 10 p.m. last night found a 22-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.

Two teens are in custody for the assault of a 25-year-old man in a backyard fight on Maple Avenue, Riverhead Police Chief David Hegermiller said.

A dispute between two residents of a downtown Riverhead sober house last night turned violent, with one man stabbing another in the stomach, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release this morning.

A stabbing at the Green View Inn on West Main Street sent one person to Peconic Bay Medical Center this afternoon with two stab wounds, according to police radio reports.
