About 50 firefighters battled a blaze at a Baiting Hollow home Thursday morning. One firefighter was treated at the scene.

A fire broke out just before 2 a.m. at Pazzo, the pizzeria in Wading River Square on Route 25A, causing heavy damage to the business, and smoke and water damage to the adjoining shops.

Fire destroyed a large barn on a Riverhead farm Wednesday night, killing 30 chickens and two pigs. Two members of the farm family and a police officer involved in the rescue were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters are battling a massive barn fire on Sound Avenue in Riverhead. The barn, located on the Wells Farm, was fully engulfed in flames when the alarm came in just before 5 p.m.

A two-story home on Northville Turnpike sustained heavy damage in the fire early Wednesday morning. No one was injured.

Riverhead firefighters made a quick stop of a house fire on Northville Turnpike Tuesday afternoon and helped two elderly residents safely evacuate their home.

Fire swept through a home on 19th Street in Wading River Wednesday. The occupants safely evacuated but two firefighters were injured in a partial collapse of the second floor and sent to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
