Theresa Whelan

The late Suffolk County Surrogate Court Judge Theresa Whelan was honored in a ceremony last week at the Surrogate’s Court in Riverhead, where a portrait of Whelan was unveiled in a courtroom packed with family, friends, colleagues and government officials. 

Incumbent Assembly Member Anthony Palumbo won the Republican primary election yesterday with more than 80 percent of the votes cast. Democrat Theresa Whelan won that party line for Surrogate Court, beating back a challenge by the Republican nominee.
